ZOMG - GRADUATION
Posted by rick` at 23:03 Thursday 7 June, 2007 (EST)
You read it: graduation. I have no finished my degree in Information Technology (graduation in July - woot) majoring in Interactive Web Design (mainly development). Now to find me a job, a guy can't work at BCF forever, as much fun as retail can be I do not think my feet can take it any more :P
At least I will not miss uni as I missed high school. Nothing left to miss :)
Hot Damn - we got the Ashes - and more stuff :)

Yes, I know it's a late post, but I really can't be arsed since it's in the IRC topic anyways. But still, Australia won back the Ashes after England finally won it for the first time in 16 years. Warne is sitting on 699 test wickets, his 700th will make him the greatest wicket taker in test cricket. And ultimately the best leg spin bowler EVER. Fitting for him to retire at the end of the Ashes, shame, but no better way to go. Sadly the same can't be said for McGrath, unfortunate that his wife suffers cancer, but his heart is in the right place to be with her as she battles on.
Oh, and merry christmas peoples. <insert something neat here>. I'm not big of the whole "festive spirit stuff, so whatever. Just enjoy yourself.
Whoops :-\

Ok, so in one of my frequent rounds of banning and deleting spam-bots, I seem to have accidentally deleted some legitimate accounts. If you are a legit user that was deleted and banned - send your username to darkrick@gmail.com FROM THE EMAIL YOU USED TO REGISTER.
Sorry for the screw up :-\

GO GO GO GO GO!
Holy Gallery Batman!
Posted by rick` at 23:45 Tuesday 7 November, 2006 (EST)
All hail the return of the darkwebz gallery!
Yes, I actually brought it back after skelm had a cry about having more bandwidth than he knew what to do with. Now, I trust some of you remember how much we were pulling last time we had a gallery. Behold skelm, we shall use that bandwidth without a problem! We just need to wait for skelm to install some server-side stuff before I open it up, but it's ready for you.
WATCH THE FORUM AND MAIN PAGE FOR UPDATES :D
On a side note, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, if you find yourself unable to login into the forums delete the cookies for darkwebz.com AND www.darkwebz.com, this is a slight side effect of having to change the forum cookie details so logging into the gallery OR the forum will log you into both.
oh noes - darkwebz irc!

Yes, I am not bull-shiting you. skelm finally got the IRC server online and it is ... ah.. "working"
From the 4wisemonkeys forum:
Everything is setup except for services. I'm still finishing work on the modules, botserv and statserv. This should be done in a day or so.
You can now connect using:
irc.darkwebz.com
irc.jamscone.com [Recommended]
irc.codingo.net
irc.codingo.org
and as of tomorrow:
irc.4wisemonkeys.com
Holy shit it's Google Analytics
Posted by rick` at 10:30 Thursday 11 May, 2006 (EST)
Holy shit it's an update! And yes, I got my invitation code for the Google Analytics service and I wasted no time setting up my account. See how well it goes after I throw the javascript into the forum's overall_footer tpl aswell as this index page.
And that seems to be about it for now. Perhaps something more in another month or so when Uni isn't killing me with work, bah.
Forums back & webmail :o

Just for all you people *COUGH*RBA*COUGH* who missed the topic in the irc / don't read it because you're lazy. The forums are back up and have been for the better part of 5hrs or so. And tomorrow / weekend I'll get around to putting up some pages Gijs knocked up for me and perhaps FINALLY get those images for the banner sorted
Also, if anyone wants an @darkwebz.com email (pop3 w/ webmail interface) throw me a pm with desired username/password and that'll get sorted eventually. Additionally - skelm is throwing hosting to darkwebz members, talk to him about that if you want in on that deal.
Woo Yay - New Host, Baby
Posted by rick` at 11:10 Thursday 23 March, 2006 (EST)
Yes, you aren't dreaming - we're in the process of seting up darkwebz on our new host :) Forums will be up - soonish I guess. No promises though, lots of uni work to be done in the meantime. But yes, we have our new home finally :) Now all there's left to do is get the rest of the pages working and it's all good :P
As said on the forum - anyone interested in helping with said development of whats left to implement for DarkWebz, throw me a pm on the forum.
DarkWebz v. 5 online!
Posted by rick` at 1:20 Wednesday 15 March, 2006 (EST)
Here it is boys and girls - the somewhat incomplete new layout. I know it isn't much, but if you knew wha my workload was like for uni you'd know why development just stopped :x Anyhow, as I said on the forum, sections will be coming online bit at a time. Gijs is giving me a hand with some scripting stuff atm and Dan is ah, working on some designs for the merch - how far into that I don't know.
To get to the point, we can now say we have a new website and actually mean it :D I might make some slight interface tweaks as the time goes by just to trial things out but for the most part it should remain the same. And in regards to pictures in the flash banner... I got a heap from people who i haven't touched since they sent them to me (some i haven't looked at yet) but I feel we got enough to at least make it somewhat more random than i can be atm.
But that's enough of my rambling, let's enjoy the new layout (at least what we can access of it anyways, har har har!)
